Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Referral Hospital (JDWNRH) started its operations in the year 1972 in the capital of Bhutan, but as a General Hospital. This hospital was further expanded in terms of its offered health care services as well in the year 1994. It has been named in honor of the third Druk Gyalpo, His late Majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuck.
